Only answers from respondents who gave permission are published. However, all responses are included in the analysis of this consultation.
The call for evidence asks for specific examples where existing maximum penalties have been insufficient, so all of the responses are relevant to the Committee’s inquiry. Of necessity, given the question, some responses mention cases which have been through the courts and the perpetrators convicted. In publishing material on its website, the Scottish Parliament has a responsibility to take account of potential cases of defamation and sub judice; it must also consider its responsibilities under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Therefore, where your submission has mentioned a name or names or information which can lead to the identification of an individual, this has been redacted for publication purposes.
