Overview
The Rural Affairs and Islands Committee will undertake its pre-budget scrutiny in the autumn ahead of publication of the budget in December.
The Committee will look at the following things as part of its pre-budget scrutiny—
- how last year’s budget was used to meet the national outcomes;
- how the cuts to some budget lines in last year’s budget have impacted on service delivery and implementation;
- the Scottish Government’s proposals to transition to new four-tier system of agricultural support following the Agriculture and Rural Communities (Scotland) Act; and
- the budget allocations for the Scottish Government’s Marine Directorate fisheries management of operations and science.
