We want to hear your views on the Scottish Government’s emergency powers to respond to Covid-19. We also want to know what we can learn about using emergency legislation for the future.

The Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 and the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act (No. 2) 2020 give emergency powers to the Scottish Government to respond to Covid-19 . The powers are set out in Part 1 of each Act. These powers expire on 31 March 2021 unless the Scottish Parliament extends them. The powers can only be extended to 30 September 2021.

Your views will help us make recommendations to the Parliament. The recommendations will be considered by all MSPs before the Parliament decides whether to extend the powers.

How to submit your views
