Overview

Thank you for responding to the invitation to submit evidence.

The Scottish Parliament's Health and Sport Committee is looking into resilience and emergency planning and the lessons that can be learned from the COVID-19 pandemic .

The purpose of the Call for Views is to understand how to better manage any future outbreaks of COVID-19 or any other pandemic.

The evidence you share will support the Committee to question the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport at a Committee meeting on Tuesday 16th June 2020.

  • Did previous planning adequately prepare us for the current pandemic?

  • With hindsight, what prevented better advanced planning to deal with the pandemic? Were the right people and organisations involved?

  • What lessons have been learned which could inform the response to future outbreaks of COVID-19 infection or another pandemic?
