Question 2
2. What are the key advantages and/or disadvantages of placing a right to receive treatment, for people with a drug or alcohol addiction, in law?
Please use this textbox to provide your answer
I have a family member with addictions not only does addiction affect the individual but it affects the whole family.
The work around an individual can inly be done by trained professionals, a family try their best but dint have the understanding or means to support the person.
A team for the individual would relieve so much pressure when it is needed. Not too little too late, like it feels just now. Waiting lists and times are too great and by the time the person and family are at crisis it's often too late and relapse is involved. The bill gives the individual and the family some respite and specialist care fast and when needed.

Services need to get to the route of the problem in order for it to be supported. People dont choose to be addicts it's an illness or a way to cope.

Question 4
4. Do you have any comments on the procedure for determining treatment?
Please use this textbox to provide your answer
No but I would say often a person in crisis has no idea what or jiw they can move forward. But the individual does often know what would work best for them so their views are important. There are times that the individual can't see a way out or are suicidal this is when the decision should take into account the impact on the Individual and their family circumstances.
Question 5
5. Are there any issues with the timescales for providing treatment, i.e. no later than 3 weeks after the treatment determination is made?
Please use this textbox to provide your answer
Sometimes the treatment needs to be there and then often the families are at crisis points before they seek help. 3 weeks can feel a very long time when this is affecting a whole family.
