Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Bill

I would prefer it if the noisier ones were kept to new year's eve and bonfire night, Diwali and Chinese New Years celebrations and lower noise F2 and F3 fireworks were permitted at other times of the year.

This way, you can still allow all year sales but it's less of a nuisance outside the main seasons and less stress on people and animals and less shock value if lower noise fireworks were only allowed outside the times I mention.

Licensing for private displays is futile as it would unfairly target responsible people and would jeopardize scout groups brownies guides school PTAs churches clubs pubs and societies from holding fireworks events for their members and regulars.

It would be better if low noise fireworks and reduced noise fireworks were sold outside the main times to reduce nuisance.

Like I've said, only limits on the noisy fireworks being sold at the regular festival times and quieter ones outside those periods would strike a sensible balance between pleasure and nuisance.

It's a very good idea but the police need to enforce this better with local trading standards also involved too.

It's a good idea should the bill without my recommendations go ahead.
