Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill - Additional Call for Views

Do you have any comments on this clarification from the Scottish Government about rough shooting and the Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill?

Please provide your response in the box provided below.
I am extreemly concerned that this bill will have the unintended and negative effect to injured and wounded animals suffering.
No matter how carefull a hunter is there will alway be occasions when animals are wounded and require to be swiftly located and dispatcted.

My particular concern relate to deer control - an activity that is required in order to meet Scottich Government ojectives on woodland creation and habitat restoration.
The instance of wounded animals has increaed in recent years as marksmen move to using non lead ammunition, in line with the direction of travel sign posted by the recent deer review group.

Whist the properties of non-lead ammunition are improving there is still a high incidence of shots pencilling through the quarry, rather than expanding and causeing quick death.

Dogs are essential and irreplacable to track and find these wounded animals - especially so in forestry situations
